The Carrot is a root vegetable, usually orange in colour, though purple, black, red, white, and yellow varieties exist. When fresh it has a crisp texture. The most commonly eaten part of a carrot is a taproot, although the greens are sometimes eaten as well. Carrots are a domesticated form of the wild carrot Daucus carota, native to both Europe and southwestern Asia. Carrots are widely used in many cuisines, especially in preparation of salads, and carrot salads are a tradition in many regional cuisines.*

Interactions:

Moderate interaction with Estrogens:

Estrogen pills consist of conjugated equine estrogens (Premarin), ethinyl estradiol, estradiol, and others. Huge quantity of wild carrot can influence the body at the same way as estrogen. However wild carrot’s effects are weaker than estrogen’s ones. Their simultaneous taking can lessen the estrogen effectiveness. It is necessary to consult a doctor.

 Moderate interaction with Lithium:

Wild carrot has a diuretic effect. Its consumption has an impact on the process of getting rid of the lithium from the body. The lithium quantity can become greater and leads to high-priority side effects. Consult a doctor, perhaps you will need to change a dosage of lithium.

Moderate interaction with Medications for high blood pressure:

Medications for high blood pressure involve captopril (Capoten), enalapril (Vasotec), losartan (Cozaar), valsartan (Diovan), diltiazem (Cardizem), amlodipine (Norvasc), hydrochlorothiazide (HydroDiuril), furosemide (Lasix), and many others.

A huge dose of wild carrot can rise blood pressure. Thereby wild carrot can decline the power of medications for high blood pressure. Be attentive while concurrent consumption, first consult a doctor.

Moderate interaction with Medications that increase sensitivity to sunlight (Photosensitizing drugs):

Photosensitizing medications such as amitriptyline (Elavil), Ciprofloxacin (Cipro), norfloxacin (Noroxin), lomefloxacin (Maxaquin), ofloxacin (Floxin), levofloxacin (Levaquin), sparfloxacin (Zagam), gatifloxacin (Tequin), moxifloxacin (Avelox), trimethoprim/sulfamethoxazole (Septra), tetracycline, methoxsalen (8-methoxypsoralen, 8-MOP, Oxsoralen), and Trioxsalen (Trisoralen) can strengthen responsiveness to the sun's rays. Wild carrot can rise your sun susceptibility as well. Contemporaneous taking of wild carrot and these medications can exacerbate the risks of side effects such as sunburn, blistering, or rashes on areas of skin opened to sunlight. It is very important to use sunblock and protective clothing when spending time in the sun.
