A single-herb liquid extract of dried leaves of Origanum vulgare, cold-macerated in small batches and offered either as a traditional tincture in organic sugar-cane alcohol or as a vegetable glycerite.

About the plant

Oregano is one of those herbs where the name covers a very wide range of actual flavour. The species runs from the sun-baked limestone of Greece and Turkey up into damp northern European grassland, and the northern form is so mild it is barely worth picking, while Greek oregano from a dry stony hillside is pungent enough to dominate a dish. The difference is carvacrol, and the plant makes it in proportion to heat and drought. It is a wiry perennial with small oval leaves and loose heads of tiny white or pink flowers, and its Greek name means joy of the mountain.

No added sugar. Contains no artificial colours, preservatives or fragrances.

Suggested use

Shake well before use. Take 20–30 drops (about 1 ml, one full squeeze of the dropper bulb) in 2 oz of water or juice, up to 4 times daily, or as directed by a qualified healthcare practitioner.

Warnings

Concentrated oregano is a strong irritant to the gut lining and to skin. Do not exceed the suggested amount. Not for use in pregnancy. People allergic to other Lamiaceae herbs may react to it.

If you are taking any medication, have a medical condition, or are scheduled for surgery, consult a healthcare practitioner before use. Discontinue use if an adverse reaction occurs.
