A single-herb liquid extract of dried leaves of Isatis indigotica, cold-macerated in small batches and offered either as a traditional tincture in organic sugar-cane alcohol or as a vegetable glycerite.

About the plant

Woad was Europe's blue. Before Indian indigo arrived by sea, every blue dye in Europe came from the fermented leaves of this biennial crucifer, and the trade in it made Toulouse and Erfurt rich enough to build cathedrals. The plant makes a rosette of blue-green leaves in its first year and in the second a stem to a metre and a half topped with a haze of small yellow flowers, followed by hanging blue-black winged seed pods. In China the same genus is grown for the leaf, da qing ye, and the root, ban lan gen.

Tincture: Isatis indigotica dried leaves, organic sugar-cane alcohol, distilled water, vegetable glycerin USP.
Glycerite: Isatis indigotica dried leaves, vegetable glycerin USP, distilled water.

No added sugar. Contains no artificial colours, preservatives or fragrances.

Suggested use

Shake well before use. Take 20–30 drops (about 1 ml, one full squeeze of the dropper bulb) in 2 oz of water or juice, up to 4 times daily, or as directed by a qualified healthcare practitioner.

Warnings

Not for use in pregnancy. Do not exceed the suggested amount.
