A single-herb liquid extract of dried leaves of Ribes nigrum, cold-macerated in small batches and offered either as a traditional tincture in organic sugar-cane alcohol or as a vegetable glycerite.

About the plant

Blackcurrant is a small deciduous shrub of damp European and northern Asian woodland, and the whole plant announces itself before you see it: brush the leaves and the smell is unmistakably blackcurrant, sharp and catty, from resin glands dotted on their undersides. The leaves are palmately lobed like a small maple; the flowers are inconspicuous and greenish, and the fruit hangs in short strigs. This extract is made from the leaf rather than the berry.

Tincture: Ribes nigrum dried leaves, organic sugar-cane alcohol, distilled water, vegetable glycerin USP.
Glycerite: Ribes nigrum dried leaves, vegetable glycerin USP, distilled water.

No added sugar. Contains no artificial colours, preservatives or fragrances.

Suggested use

Shake well before use. Take 20–30 drops (about 1 ml, one full squeeze of the dropper bulb) in 2 oz of water or juice, up to 4 times daily, or as directed by a qualified healthcare practitioner.

Warnings

Blackcurrant leaf may add to the effect of anticoagulants. Not for use in pregnancy.
