A single-herb liquid extract of dried plant material of Bambusa tuldoides, cold-macerated in small batches and offered either as a traditional tincture in organic sugar-cane alcohol or as a vegetable glycerite.

About the plant

Zhu ru is made with a knife. The hard green outer skin of a fresh bamboo culm is scraped away and thrown out, and then the pale layer immediately underneath is shaved off in long thin curls, which are dried and sold as the drug; the woody inner part of the culm is not used. Several bamboo species are accepted for it. The shavings are pale yellow-green, light and springy, and roll into loose balls.

Glycerite: Bambusa tuldoides, vegetable glycerin USP, distilled water.

No added sugar. Contains no artificial colours, preservatives or fragrances.

Suggested use

Shake well before use. Take 20–30 drops (about 1 ml, one full squeeze of the dropper bulb) in 2 oz of water or juice, up to 4 times daily, or as directed by a qualified healthcare practitioner.
