A single-herb liquid extract of dried herb of Schizonepeta tenuifolia, cold-macerated in small batches and offered either as a traditional tincture in organic sugar-cane alcohol or as a vegetable glycerite.

About the plant

Jing Jie refers to the plant in the family Lamiaceae – Schizonepeta tenuifolia. The aerial parts are formerly used for medicinal purpose. And it has a few other names, such as Keigai, Schizonepeta Stem, Cataire Japonaise, Herba Schizonepetae, Fine leaf schizonepeta herb, Japanese Mint, Herb of Fineleaf Schizonepeta, Herba seu Flos Schizonepetae Tenuifoliae, Hyonggae, Tenuifolia, and so on. It is mostly cultivated and mainly produced in Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Henan, Hebei, Shandong. The preferable harvesting time is in summer and autumn when flowers are fully blossoming and spike are turning green. After that, get rid of the impurities, dry in the sun, cut into section, and use raw or charred.

Tincture: Schizonepeta tenuifolia dried herb, organic sugar-cane alcohol, distilled water, vegetable glycerin USP.

Suggested use

Shake well before use. Take 20–30 drops (about 1 ml, one full squeeze of the dropper bulb) in 2 oz of water or juice, up to 4 times daily, or as directed by a qualified healthcare practitioner.
