A single-herb liquid extract of dried plant material of Holothuria atra, cold-macerated in small batches and offered either as a traditional tincture in organic sugar-cane alcohol or as a vegetable glycerite.

About the plant

This is an animal, not a plant. The black sea cucumber is an echinoderm — a relative of starfish and urchins — that lies on Indo-Pacific reef flats looking like a dark leathery sausage, usually with a coat of sand stuck to itself for camouflage and sun protection. It feeds by shovelling sediment through its gut with a ring of short tentacles. It is gathered by hand at low tide, gutted, boiled and dried.

Glycerite: Holothuria atra, vegetable glycerin USP, distilled water.

No added sugar. Contains no artificial colours, preservatives or fragrances.

Suggested use

Shake well before use. Take 20–30 drops (about 1 ml, one full squeeze of the dropper bulb) in 2 oz of water or juice, up to 4 times daily, or as directed by a qualified healthcare practitioner.

This is an animal product, not a plant. Do not use if you are allergic to shellfish or seafood. It may add to the effect of anticoagulants. Not for use in pregnancy.
