A single-herb liquid extract of dried tuber of Semiaquilegia adoxoides, cold-macerated in small batches and offered either as a traditional tincture in organic sugar-cane alcohol or as a vegetable glycerite.

About the plant

Semiaquilegia means half-columbine, and the plant looks like a columbine that has been left unfinished: the same delicate divided leaves and nodding flowers, but the flowers lack the long backward spurs that make a columbine what it is. It is a small early-spring perennial of hillsides and field margins through central and southern China, with pale pink-white flowers, and the part gathered is a small dark tuber the size of a grain of wheat.

No added sugar. Contains no artificial colours, preservatives or fragrances.

Suggested use

Shake well before use. Take 20–30 drops (about 1 ml, one full squeeze of the dropper bulb) in 2 oz of water or juice, up to 4 times daily, or as directed by a qualified healthcare practitioner.

Warnings

Take this in small amounts only. Semiaquilegia is a buttercup relative and the family carries irritant compounds; larger amounts can cause nausea and vomiting. Not for use in pregnancy.
