A single-herb liquid extract of dried seeds of Sesamum indicum, cold-macerated in small batches and offered either as a traditional tincture in organic sugar-cane alcohol or as a vegetable glycerite.

About the plant

A ripe sesame capsule splits along its seams with an audible pop and throws its seed, which is why the crop has to be cut just before it is fully ripe and stood to finish under cover, and very probably why a phrase about a cave door opening attached itself to the plant. Sesame is one of the oldest oilseeds in cultivation, with charred seeds from Indus Valley sites around 2500 BC. Its oil keeps far better than most because of the natural antioxidants in the seed.

No added sugar. Contains no artificial colours, preservatives or fragrances.

Suggested use

Shake well before use. Take 20–30 drops (about 1 ml, one full squeeze of the dropper bulb) in 2 oz of water or juice, up to 4 times daily, or as directed by a qualified healthcare practitioner.

Sesame is one of the major food allergens recognised in the United States. Do not use this if you are allergic to sesame; reactions can be severe.
