A single-herb liquid extract of dried rhizome of Polygonatum biflorum, cold-macerated in small batches and offered either as a traditional tincture in organic sugar-cane alcohol or as a vegetable glycerite.

About the plant

Solomon's seal is a woodland perennial of eastern North America that sends up a single arching unbranched stem, knee to waist high, with ribbed oval leaves set alternately along it and pairs of small greenish-white bells hanging underneath, hidden unless you lift the stem. The rhizome creeps just below the leaf litter and is knobbly and jointed: each year's stem breaks off in autumn and leaves a round depressed scar, and it is those scars — supposedly resembling a wax seal — that gave the plant its name. Counting them tells you how many seasons the plant has stood there.

Glycerite: Polygonatum biflorum dried rhizome, vegetable glycerin USP, distilled water.

No added sugar. Contains no artificial colours, preservatives or fragrances.

Suggested use

Shake well before use. Take 20–30 drops (about 1 ml, one full squeeze of the dropper bulb) in 2 oz of water or juice, up to 4 times daily, or as directed by a qualified healthcare practitioner.
