A single-herb liquid extract of dried root of Dipsacus fullonum, cold-macerated in small batches and offered either as a traditional tincture in organic sugar-cane alcohol or as a vegetable glycerite.

About the plant

Teasel is a stiff biennial that stands to two metres on a prickly stem, with a conical flower head covered in hooked spines around which a band of small lilac flowers opens in a ring that travels up and down the head as the season goes on. Its paired leaves fuse around the stem to make a cup that fills with rainwater. A close relative, fuller's teasel, was grown for centuries and its dried heads set into frames to raise the nap on woollen cloth — a job no machine did as well until the twentieth century. The root is what is used here.

No added sugar. Contains no artificial colours, preservatives or fragrances.

Suggested use

Shake well before use. Take 20–30 drops (about 1 ml, one full squeeze of the dropper bulb) in 2 oz of water or juice, up to 4 times daily, or as directed by a qualified healthcare practitioner.
