A single-herb liquid extract of dried root of Curculigo orchioides, cold-macerated in small batches and offered either as a traditional tincture in organic sugar-cane alcohol or as a vegetable glycerite.

About the plant

Xian mao is a small unassuming herb of Indian and southern Chinese grassland, with narrow pleated grass-like leaves rising from ground level and small bright yellow flowers that sit almost on the soil, half hidden among them. Below is a slender cylindrical dark brown root that runs straight down. The Chinese name means immortal grass, and the English one, golden eye-grass, describes the flower.

No added sugar. Contains no artificial colours, preservatives or fragrances.

Suggested use

Shake well before use. Take 20–30 drops (about 1 ml, one full squeeze of the dropper bulb) in 2 oz of water or juice, up to 4 times daily, or as directed by a qualified healthcare practitioner.

Warnings

Not for use in pregnancy. Do not exceed the suggested amount; xian mao is warming and can irritate the stomach.
