A single-herb liquid extract of dried plant material of Cymbopogon citratus, cold-macerated in small batches and offered either as a traditional tincture in organic sugar-cane alcohol or as a vegetable glycerite.

About the plant

Lemongrass is a tropical clumping grass that almost never flowers in cultivation and is propagated entirely by splitting clumps. The part used is the swollen white base of the stem, where the leaf sheaths wrap tightly around each other; the blades above are too tough and too sharp-edged to be much use, though they are used for tea. The scent is citral, the same compound that dominates lemon peel, which is why the two smell so alike while being entirely unrelated plants.

No added sugar. Contains no artificial colours, preservatives or fragrances.

Suggested use

Shake well before use. Take 20–30 drops (about 1 ml, one full squeeze of the dropper bulb) in 2 oz of water or juice, up to 4 times daily, or as directed by a qualified healthcare practitioner.

Not for use in pregnancy. Lemongrass may lower blood sugar.
