A single-herb liquid extract of dried plant material of Avena sativa, cold-macerated in small batches and offered either as a traditional tincture in organic sugar-cane alcohol or as a vegetable glycerite.

About the plant

Oats are easy to pick out of a field of cereals because they do not carry their grain in a spike. Instead they have an open branching panicle, and the spikelets hang off it on fine stalks and swing in any breeze. This is the ripe grain rather than the green milky top or the straw, which we list separately. Oats were domesticated late and only once agriculture moved north, because they began as a weed of wheat and barley and only became worth growing where they outperformed the crop they were contaminating.

Glycerite: Avena sativa, vegetable glycerin USP, distilled water.

No added sugar. Contains no artificial colours, preservatives or fragrances.

Suggested use

Shake well before use. Take 20–30 drops (about 1 ml, one full squeeze of the dropper bulb) in 2 oz of water or juice, up to 4 times daily, or as directed by a qualified healthcare practitioner.

Warnings

Oats are grown and milled alongside wheat and are not suitable if you have coeliac disease unless the batch is certified gluten-free.
