A single-herb liquid extract of dried herb of Anethum graveolens, cold-macerated in small batches and offered either as a traditional tincture in organic sugar-cane alcohol or as a vegetable glycerite.

About the plant

Dill leaf and dill seed do not taste the same, and the chemistry says why: the leaf is dominated by phellandrene, green and grassy, while the seed is dominated by carvone, the same compound that makes caraway taste of caraway. Dill leaf also loses its aroma on drying faster than almost any other herb, which is why freeze-dried and extracted forms exist at all. The name is thought to come from an Old Norse word meaning to lull.

Suggested use

Shake well before use. Take 20–30 drops (about 1 ml, one full squeeze of the dropper bulb) in 2 oz of water or juice, up to 4 times daily, or as directed by a qualified healthcare practitioner.

Warnings

Dill belongs to the carrot family and contains compounds that can make skin more sensitive to sunlight. Not for use in pregnancy in more than culinary amounts.

Reported interactions: Moderate Interaction with Lithium: Dill has a diuretic effect on the body. Its consumption has an impact on the process of getting rid of the lithium from the body. The lithium quantity can become greater and leads to high-priority side effects. Consult a doctor, perhaps you will need to change a dosage of lithium.

Keep out of reach of children. Not for use during pregnancy or while breastfeeding. If you are taking any medication, have a medical condition, or are scheduled for surgery, consult a healthcare practitioner before use. Discontinue use if an adverse reaction occurs.
