RHODODENDRON

RHODODENDRON />

Have you heard of a plant like rhododendron? They say that it gives prophetic dreams, but only if it is put under your pillow from Thursday to Friday, on the eve of your birthday or on New Year and Christmas’ Eve.

Rhododendron Greenland (Latin Rhododendron groenlandicum) is a species of low shrubs of the genus Rhododendron of the Heather family.

The height of the shrub is of about half a meter (rarely up to 2m) with evergreen leaves 20-60mm long and 3-15mm wide. Leaves are wrinkled on top and from below are densely covered with hairs painted from white to reddish-brown, wavy along the edges. Tiny white flowers are collected in hemispherical inflorescences and are very fragrant.

The species is distributed throughout the Arctic. In Europe, it reaches the Alps, and in North America, its range extends to the north of Pennsylvania, Ohio and New Jersey to the east and Oregon to the west. It grows on swamps and on wet coasts, and sometimes on the rocky slopes of the Alps.

Rhododendron impresses with its valuable composition. The plant contains essential oil, triptine compounds, tannins, ursolic acid, manganese, aluminum, copper, silver, barium, lead, and a number of flavanoids.

Take care of your health and have a nice day!
