About the plant

Bei xie is a climbing yam of Chinese hill forest, twining anticlockwise up whatever it meets, with heart-shaped leaves that are conspicuously pale and glaucous underneath — hypoglauca means exactly that. The rhizome runs horizontally, hard and woody rather than fleshy like an edible yam, and it is chopped into thin irregular slices while fresh, which dry to a pale yellowish-white.

No added sugar. Contains no artificial colours, preservatives or fragrances.

Suggested use

Shake well before use. Take 20–30 drops (about 1 ml, one full squeeze of the dropper bulb) in 2 oz of water or juice, up to 4 times daily, or as directed by a qualified healthcare practitioner.

Warnings

Not for use in pregnancy. Dioscorea rhizomes contain saponins; do not exceed the suggested amount, and take it well diluted.
