About the plant

Lungwort is a low European woodland perennial with rough bristly leaves splashed and spotted with pale silver blotches. Its flowers do something unusual: they open pink and turn blue as they age, so a single plant in April carries both colours at once, sometimes in the same cluster, which is why country names for it include soldiers and sailors and Joseph and Mary. The spotted leaf, read as a picture of a diseased lung, is what earned it its English and Latin names under the old doctrine of signatures.

Suggested use

Shake well before use. Take 20–30 drops (about 1 ml, one full squeeze of the dropper bulb) in 2 oz of water or juice, up to 4 times daily, or as directed by a qualified healthcare practitioner.
