A single-herb liquid extract of dried leaf of Verbascum thapsus, cold-macerated in small batches and offered either as a traditional tincture in organic sugar-cane alcohol or as a vegetable glycerite.

About the plant

Mullein spends its first year as a flat rosette of thick grey-green leaves felted all over with branched hairs, soft as flannel, and its second sending up one unbranched spike to two metres, packed with yellow flowers that open a few at a time. It came from Eurasia and is now naturalised across the temperate world, always on poor dry disturbed ground — road cuttings, gravel, burnt clearings. The dried stalk dipped in tallow made a serviceable torch, which is where candlewick plant and hag's taper come from. This is the leaf; because of those hairs, preparations of mullein leaf are traditionally strained.

Glycerite: Verbascum thapsus dried leaf, vegetable glycerin USP, distilled water.

No added sugar. Contains no artificial colours, preservatives or fragrances.

Suggested use

Shake well before use. Take 20–30 drops (about 1 ml, one full squeeze of the dropper bulb) in 2 oz of water or juice, up to 4 times daily, or as directed by a qualified healthcare practitioner.
