A single-herb liquid extract of dried flowers of Verbascum densiflorum, cold-macerated in small batches and offered either as a traditional tincture in organic sugar-cane alcohol or as a vegetable glycerite.

About the plant

Dense-flowered mullein is the larger-flowered cousin of common mullein, and the one European pharmacopoeias specify. It has the same biennial habit — a flat rosette of felted grey-green leaves in the first year, one unbranched flowering spike to two metres in the second — but the individual flowers are bigger and more openly cupped, and the leaf bases run down the stem as narrow wings. The flowers open a few at a time over many weeks and have to be picked daily, which is why mullein flower always costs several times what the leaf does.

Suggested use

Shake well before use. Take 20–30 drops (about 1 ml, one full squeeze of the dropper bulb) in 2 oz of water or juice, up to 4 times daily, or as directed by a qualified healthcare practitioner.
