A single-herb liquid extract of dried flower of Verbascum thapsus, cold-macerated in small batches and offered either as a traditional tincture in organic sugar-cane alcohol or as a vegetable glycerite.

About the plant

Mullein spends its first year as a flat rosette of thick, felted grey-green leaves and its second sending up a single unbranched spike to two metres. The flowers are what this extract is made from: bright yellow, five shallow lobes, faintly honey-scented, and opening only a handful at a time in no particular order up the spike over several weeks. There is no way to harvest them in bulk in one pass — a jar of mullein flowers is the result of returning to the same stand of plants morning after morning through the summer.

No added sugar. Contains no artificial colours, preservatives or fragrances.

Suggested use

Shake well before use. Take 20–30 drops (about 1 ml, one full squeeze of the dropper bulb) in 2 oz of water or juice, up to 4 times daily, or as directed by a qualified healthcare practitioner.
