A single-herb liquid extract of dried fruits of Carum carvi, cold-macerated in small batches and offered either as a traditional tincture in organic sugar-cane alcohol or as a vegetable glycerite.

About the plant

Caraway and spearmint owe their smell to the same molecule, and the reason they smell nothing alike is one of the neatest facts in flavour chemistry: carvone exists in two mirror-image forms, and the nose has separate receptors for them. One is caraway, the other is spearmint, and the two are otherwise chemically identical. The plant is a biennial umbellifer of European meadows, and the seed is a curved ridged half-fruit.

Glycerite: Carum carvi dried fruits, vegetable glycerin USP, distilled water.

No added sugar. Contains no artificial colours, preservatives or fragrances.

Suggested use

Shake well before use. Take 20–30 drops (about 1 ml, one full squeeze of the dropper bulb) in 2 oz of water or juice, up to 4 times daily, or as directed by a qualified healthcare practitioner.

Warnings

Not for use in pregnancy in more than culinary amounts. Caraway may lower blood sugar.
