A single-herb liquid extract of dried root of Collinsonia canadensis, cold-macerated in small batches and offered either as a traditional tincture in organic sugar-cane alcohol or as a vegetable glycerite.

About the plant

Stone root is a tall woodland mint of eastern North America, reaching well over a metre, with large coarsely toothed leaves and, in late summer, airy branching panicles of small pale yellow flowers whose lower lip is cut into a fringe. Crushed, the flowers smell strongly of lemon. The name refers to the rhizome, which is not the soft creeping thing most mints produce but a hard, knotted, almost woody mass that blunts a knife.

No added sugar. Contains no artificial colours, preservatives or fragrances.

Suggested use

Shake well before use. Take 20–30 drops (about 1 ml, one full squeeze of the dropper bulb) in 2 oz of water or juice, up to 4 times daily, or as directed by a qualified healthcare practitioner.

Warnings

Not for use in pregnancy. Fresh stone root is a gut irritant; use only as directed.
