A single-herb liquid extract of dried leaves of Ocimum gratissimum, cold-macerated in small batches and offered either as a traditional tincture in organic sugar-cane alcohol or as a vegetable glycerite.

About the plant

Vana tulsi is the forest tulsi, a taller and coarser plant than the holy basil grown in courtyards, with larger, more sharply toothed and more hairy leaves and a scent that is markedly more clove-like. It grows wild in the forests of India and across tropical Africa, where it is also an everyday culinary herb. It is a different species from O. tenuiflorum, which is what tulsi usually means.

Glycerite: Ocimum gratissimum dried leaves, vegetable glycerin USP, distilled water.

No added sugar. Contains no artificial colours, preservatives or fragrances.

Suggested use

Shake well before use. Take 20–30 drops (about 1 ml, one full squeeze of the dropper bulb) in 2 oz of water or juice, up to 4 times daily, or as directed by a qualified healthcare practitioner.

Warnings

Not for use in pregnancy or while trying to conceive. It may lower blood sugar and may add to the effect of anticoagulants.
