A single-herb liquid extract of dried buds of Rosa damascena, cold-macerated in small batches and offered either as a traditional tincture in organic sugar-cane alcohol or as a vegetable glycerite.

About the plant

The damask rose is an ancient hybrid that barely sets seed and has been propagated by cutting and layering for centuries. Almost all of it is grown in two places: the Valley of Roses below the Balkan mountains in Bulgaria, and the plateau around Isparta in Turkey. Picking starts before dawn and stops by mid-morning, because the aromatic oil in the petal falls away as the sun warms it, and it takes something on the order of three tonnes of petals to make a kilogram of rose oil.

No added sugar. Contains no artificial colours, preservatives or fragrances.

Suggested use

Shake well before use. Take 20–30 drops (about 1 ml, one full squeeze of the dropper bulb) in 2 oz of water or juice, up to 4 times daily, or as directed by a qualified healthcare practitioner.
