A single-herb liquid extract of dried herb of Salvia chinensis, cold-macerated in small batches and offered either as a traditional tincture in organic sugar-cane alcohol or as a vegetable glycerite.

About the plant

Shi jian chuan is one of the quiet sages. It is a small annual of grassy slopes and stream banks in eastern China with variable leaves — the lower ones often cut into three leaflets, the upper ones simple — and short spikes of small blue-purple flowers. Unlike the culinary and desert sages it is barely aromatic, which surprises people who know the genus by smell.

No added sugar. Contains no artificial colours, preservatives or fragrances.

Suggested use

Shake well before use. Take 20–30 drops (about 1 ml, one full squeeze of the dropper bulb) in 2 oz of water or juice, up to 4 times daily, or as directed by a qualified healthcare practitioner.

Warnings

Not for use in pregnancy. It may add to the effect of anticoagulant medicines.
