A single-herb liquid extract of dried seeds of Citrullus lanatus, cold-macerated in small batches and offered either as a traditional tincture in organic sugar-cane alcohol or as a vegetable glycerite.

About the plant

The watermelon began in southern Africa, and the ancestral fruit was nothing like the modern one: hard, pale, and bitter, grown for its water content in dry country rather than for sweetness. Red flesh and sugar came later, by selection. The seeds have been a food in their own right across Africa, the Middle East and China for a long time — roasted, salted, or hulled and ground into a paste.

No added sugar. Contains no artificial colours, preservatives or fragrances.

Suggested use

Shake well before use. Take 20–30 drops (about 1 ml, one full squeeze of the dropper bulb) in 2 oz of water or juice, up to 4 times daily, or as directed by a qualified healthcare practitioner.

Warnings

Do not use if you are allergic to cucurbits. Watermelon seed may lower blood pressure.
