A single-herb liquid extract of dried stems of Trachelospermum jasminoides, cold-macerated in small batches and offered either as a traditional tincture in organic sugar-cane alcohol or as a vegetable glycerite.

About the plant

Star jasmine is not a jasmine. It belongs to the dogbane family, and a cut stem proves it by bleeding white latex, which no true jasmine does. It is an evergreen twiner that climbs stone and brick by short aerial roots — the Chinese name luo shi teng means the vine that settles on rock — and in early summer it covers itself in small white flowers with five petals swept round like a pinwheel, carrying a scent that travels a long way in still air.

Suggested use

Shake well before use. Take 20–30 drops (about 1 ml, one full squeeze of the dropper bulb) in 2 oz of water or juice, up to 4 times daily, or as directed by a qualified healthcare practitioner.

Star jasmine is a dogbane relative and its latex is an irritant. Not for use in pregnancy. Take it in modest amounts only.
