A single-herb liquid extract of dried plant material of Medicago sativa, cold-macerated in small batches and offered either as a traditional tincture in organic sugar-cane alcohol or as a vegetable glycerite.

About the plant

Alfalfa is a deep-rooted legume from Persia and Anatolia and one of the oldest forage crops in the world, grown for horses in the classical Mediterranean and named through Arabic and Spanish before it reached English. Its taproot goes down several metres, which is why it stays green through a drought that flattens grass. It carries small violet clover-like flowers and, unusually, pods coiled into a tight spiral of two or three turns. The seeds inside are tiny, hard and mustard-yellow, and it is those that are sprouted.

Tincture: Medicago sativa, organic sugar-cane alcohol, distilled water, vegetable glycerin USP.
Glycerite: Medicago sativa, vegetable glycerin USP, distilled water.

No added sugar. Contains no artificial colours, preservatives or fragrances.

Suggested use

Shake well before use. Take 20–30 drops (about 1 ml, one full squeeze of the dropper bulb) in 2 oz of water or juice, up to 4 times daily, or as directed by a qualified healthcare practitioner.
