A single-herb liquid extract of dried stem of Nelumbo nucifera, cold-macerated in small batches and offered either as a traditional tincture in organic sugar-cane alcohol or as a vegetable glycerite.

About the plant

The lotus is a plant of extremes. Its leaves are so water-repellent that a drop rolls off carrying the dirt with it, an effect now copied in self-cleaning paint; its seeds have germinated after more than a thousand years in a dry lake bed; and its flowers generate their own heat, holding themselves near thirty degrees for the pollinating beetles that shelter in them overnight. This extract is made from the stem, the long hollow petiole that carries each leaf up through the water from the rhizome buried in the mud. In Chinese practice every part has its own name and its own listing — leaf, stem, seed, plumule, stamen, rhizome node.

Ingredients

Tincture: Nelumbo nucifera dried stem, organic sugar-cane alcohol, distilled water, vegetable glycerin USP.
Glycerite: Nelumbo nucifera dried stem, vegetable glycerin USP, distilled water.

No added sugar. Contains no artificial colours, preservatives or fragrances.

Suggested use

Shake well before use. Take 20–30 drops (about 1 ml, one full squeeze of the dropper bulb) in 2 oz of water or juice, up to 4 times daily, or as directed by a qualified healthcare practitioner.
