A single-herb liquid extract of dried seed of Prosopis pallida, cold-macerated in small batches and offered either as a traditional tincture in organic sugar-cane alcohol or as a vegetable glycerite.

About the plant

Mesquite roots go deeper than almost any plant measured: taproots have been recorded past fifty metres, which is how the tree stays green in desert where nothing else does. The pods are the point. They are sweet with fructose, and ground pod flour was a staple food across the dry country of Peru and the American Southwest, needing no sugar added to it. Every kiawe tree in Hawaii descends from a single seedling planted in Honolulu in 1828.

Glycerite: Prosopis pallida dried seed, vegetable glycerin USP, distilled water.

No added sugar. Contains no artificial colours, preservatives or fragrances.

Suggested use

Shake well before use. Take 20–30 drops (about 1 ml, one full squeeze of the dropper bulb) in 2 oz of water or juice, up to 4 times daily, or as directed by a qualified healthcare practitioner.

Warnings

Mesquite pod is high in sugars — take care if you are managing blood sugar. Avoid it if you have a legume allergy.

If you are taking any medication, have a medical condition, or are scheduled for surgery, consult a healthcare practitioner before use. Discontinue use if an adverse reaction occurs.
