A single-herb liquid extract of dried tuber of Ophiopogon japonicus, cold-macerated in small batches and offered either as a traditional tincture in organic sugar-cane alcohol or as a vegetable glycerite.

About the plant

Dwarf lilyturf is not a grass, though it spends its life pretending to be one: it makes dense low clumps of dark green arching strap leaves and is planted across Japan and China as ground cover under trees, where it holds soil and takes shade that nothing else will. Small pale lilac flowers hide among the leaves in summer, followed by bright blue berries. Underground the fibrous roots swell here and there into small pale spindle-shaped tubers, and it is those that are dug, washed and dried. The Chinese name is mai men dong.

Glycerite: Ophiopogon japonicus dried tuber, vegetable glycerin USP, distilled water.

No added sugar. Contains no artificial colours, preservatives or fragrances.

Suggested use

Shake well before use. Take 20–30 drops (about 1 ml, one full squeeze of the dropper bulb) in 2 oz of water or juice, up to 4 times daily, or as directed by a qualified healthcare practitioner.
