A single-herb liquid extract of dried plant material of Diospyros kaki, cold-macerated in small batches and offered either as a traditional tincture in organic sugar-cane alcohol or as a vegetable glycerite.

About the plant

Shi di is the calyx of the persimmon: the four-lobed woody cap that sits on top of the fruit and stays firmly attached to it, and which is normally thrown away when the fruit is eaten or processed. It is collected, cleaned and dried. The tree is an East Asian ebony relative, and the astringent varieties are inedible until the fruit is completely soft or has been treated, because until then the tannins in it dry the mouth out entirely.

No added sugar. Contains no artificial colours, preservatives or fragrances.

Suggested use

Shake well before use. Take 20–30 drops (about 1 ml, one full squeeze of the dropper bulb) in 2 oz of water or juice, up to 4 times daily, or as directed by a qualified healthcare practitioner.
