A single-herb liquid extract of dried root of Chrysopogon zizanioides, cold-macerated in small batches and offered either as a traditional tincture in organic sugar-cane alcohol or as a vegetable glycerite.

About the plant

Vetiver is a tall clumping grass of India that does something no other grass does: instead of spreading a mat of shallow roots it sends them straight down, three or four metres, in a dense curtain. Planted along a contour it becomes a living wall that holds a hillside together, and it is used that way for erosion control across the tropics. The roots are also the aromatic part, and the scent is deep, earthy and smoky, closer to damp soil and woodsmoke than to anything green. In India it is khus, and woven vetiver screens are hung in doorways and wetted so the hot wind blows through them.

Glycerite: Chrysopogon zizanioides dried root, vegetable glycerin USP, distilled water.

No added sugar. Contains no artificial colours, preservatives or fragrances.

Suggested use

Shake well before use. Take 20–30 drops (about 1 ml, one full squeeze of the dropper bulb) in 2 oz of water or juice, up to 4 times daily, or as directed by a qualified healthcare practitioner.
