Wild Lettuce (Lactuca Virosa) is native to North America and grows in warm, temperate climate. It is a biennial herb of 60-150 cm height with a smooth, bare stem. Leaves are horizontal, oblong-ovate, and serrated. The flowers are yellow, collected in a loose pyramidal panicle. Fruit is a black achene with a long pappus. Blooming period comes in July-August. The plant usually grows in rocky places.
