A single-herb liquid extract of dried herb of Epilobium parviflorum, cold-macerated in small batches and offered either as a traditional tincture in organic sugar-cane alcohol or as a vegetable glycerite.

About the plant

Small-flowered willowherb is a softly hairy perennial of European ditches, streamsides and damp waste ground, growing to about a metre on an unbranched stem covered in fine grey down. Its flowers are pale pink, four notched petals, and no more than a centimetre across — nothing like the tall magenta spires of its relative rosebay willowherb, which is what most people picture. The seed pods are long and thin, splitting lengthwise to release seeds on silky plumes. It was little known outside botany until the Austrian herbalist Maria Treben wrote about the genus in the 1980s, after which demand for it across central Europe rose sharply.

Suggested use

Shake well before use. Take 20–30 drops (about 1 ml, one full squeeze of the dropper bulb) in 2 oz of water or juice, up to 4 times daily, or as directed by a qualified healthcare practitioner.
